A 20-year-old man, who prosecutors and witnesess described as a longtime friend of former Chicago Public Schools basketball star Michael Haynes, was ordered held without bond Thursday, after being charged with Haynes’ murder.
Authorities have charged a Far South Side man with the murder a former star athlete last month.
On the night that former Chicago Public Schools basketball star Michael Haynes was gunned down, his younger brother allegedly threatened to shoot four people, according to police.
Michael Haynes, 22, had been set to begin attending Iona College in just a few days. CBS 2’s Suzanne Le Mignot reports.
Five people were shot to death between Thursday night and early Friday morning in the city of Chicago, including two men whose bodies were found outside a South Deering neighborhood car wash.
