SEC Charges UNO Charter School Group With Fraud

The SEC alleges the school operator and United Neighborhood Organization of Chicago failed to disclose a multimillion-dollar contract with a windows company owned by the brother of one of its senior officers.

UNO Chief Steps Down From Board Amid School Contract Scandal

The leader of the United Neighborhood Organization – the city’s largest charter school operator – said Tuesday the group is making big changes to resolve ethical problems, in hopes of winning back state funding for a new high school.
