The Cubs managed only 3 hits off of Pirates starter Paul Maholm, who went the distance as the Bucs shut out the Cubs 10-0. Randy Wells came off the disabled list to make his first start since April 4th, but he took the loss, going only 4 innings while giving up 5 earned runs.
The Cubs get a much-needed arm in the starting rotation as Randy Wells was activated to make the start against the Pirates Saturday at Wrigley Field.
The Spurs presented a nice pre-All Star Break challenge for Tom Thibodeau’s team. The Bulls met the challenge valiantly.
