Crews Working To Recover Grounded Tug Boat From Rocks

The tugboat Kimberly Selvick was towing two barges from Montrose Harbor to the Calumet River shipyards Monday afternoon when it hit rocks near 39th Street Beach, amid windy and wavy conditions.

Divers have located the body of a male who went into Lake Michigan early Monday. A woman had been rescued in critical condition from the same incident.

Search Resumes For 2nd Victim After Woman Rescued From Montrose Harbor

A woman fell in Montrose Harbor around 2 a.m., and Chicago Fire Department and Police Marine Unit crews were able to pull her out and get her to a hospital, but another person also might have gone in the water.

Sailors Rescued From Lake Michigan — For Second Time In A Year

A dramatic rescue unfolded on Wednesday when two sailors were plucked from Lake Michigan after spending several minutes clinging for their lives on the side of their overturned sailboat. Officials said the men apparently had been drinking. At least one of the men was involved in a similar incident about a year ago.
