A man from Manhattan, Illinois, is in police custody this morning after an ambulance was stolen from a southwest suburban hospital.
New Lenox police said the boy, from nearby Manhattan, was crossing U.S. Route 30 outside Lincoln-Way Central High School a few minutes after 10 a.m., when he ended up in the path of a semi.
