Michal Handzus scored the go-ahead goal 6:45 into the second period and the Chicago Blackhawks held on for a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders on Friday night.
“I thought some guys worked hard and played a good game,” Islanders coach Jack Capuano said. “Again, with our club we need all 20 guys going, and we didn’t have all 20.”

There were 346 penalty minutes, several ejections, and fight after fight. Penguins owner Mario Lemieux blasted the NHL for how they handled the situation.
Before the Blackhawks and Islanders took the ice Sunday night, the ’61 Blackhawks team was honored. The night couldn’t have been more special than Chicago scoring five times and keeping the Islanders scoreless.
