With Growing Transplant Waitlists, Doctors Seek More Organ Donors

As Northwestern Memorial Hospital celebrated the 50th anniversary of its first organ transplant, doctors were urging people to sign up as donors as part of National Donate Life Month in April.

Northwestern Launches New Lung Transplant Program

According to the United Network for Organ Sharing, only 52 lung transplants were performed last year at two centers in Illinois, forcing many patients to travel out of state.
