Two men were killed and five other people — including a man in a wheelchair — were wounded in shootings across the city from Tuesday afternoon to early Wednesday.
The youngest person wounded was a boy thought to be 5 or 6, who was shot in the shoulder about 5:40 p.m. near 56th and Mozart streets.
The fatal shooting happened in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side. Jose Rodriquez, 30, was shot in the head about 7 p.m. in the 6000 block of South Talman Avenue.
A 36-year-old man who was shot in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood died about an hour later, after he was rushed to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
One teenage boy was killed and 12 others were injured in Chicago just between 9 p.m. Monday and 5 a.m. Tuesday.
