1 Dead, 9 Wounded In Shootings Overnight

Just before 7 p.m., 36-year-old Chad Collins was shot in the 2300 block of East 75th Street, authorities said. Collins, of Harvey, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.

Two men were killed and five other people — including a man in a wheelchair — were wounded in shootings across the city from Tuesday afternoon to early Wednesday.

The fatal shooting happened in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side. Jose Rodriquez, 30, was shot in the head about 7 p.m. in the 6000 block of South Talman Avenue.

A 36-year-old man who was shot in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood died about an hour later, after he was rushed to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
