The boy was walking alone across southbound Palatine Road just east of Winston Drive when he was struck by a gray 2006 Hyundai Sonata about 4:15 p.m., according to a statement from Palatine police.
Cook County Sheriff’s police have taken steps to bring a 35-year-old man back from Michigan, after he showed up there a day after allegedly leaving his 3-year-old daughter alone in a forest preserve in northwest suburban Prospect Heights earlier this week.
The girl, whose name is Aliya, was found around 6:30 p.m. walking along Palatine Road, on the western edge of the Allison Woods Forest Preserve.
