If you’re looking to go out with your friends and enjoy a good Bears game when they’re NOT playing the Packers, put on your jersey and head out to these places to experience some excellent specials and some even better football on TV.
No worries if you find that your apartment barely has enough breathing for you and Fido. Chicago and its surrounding suburbs have plenty of “dog friendly areas” where you two can go outdoors and take in the fresh air and get some exercise.
A popular beach and also the largest public one in Chicago, Montrose Beach is located near the Uptown neighborhood. It has fun activities for everyone in the family including the dog.

Before you know it, fall will be blowing into Chicago. So enjoy the last two months or so of nice weather while you can; and what better way to do it than enjoying either lunch or dinner outside along the Chicago River. I may be bias, but I think sitting alongside the river and eating lunch outside gives you some of the best views of the city with the river sparkling (although not sparkling clean) and the sun bouncing off the glass office buildings. It really makes you appreciate what a great city Chicago is.
There is a reason why Chicago is labeled as the Third Coast. With Lake Michigan at our fingertips, Chicago boasts lots of beaches up and down her shores. One of the more popular and active beaches is North Avenue. Spend a weekend there and take in what it has to offer.

You can’t have a Fourth of July without fireworks. Fortunately, Navy Pier isn’t the only place to go to watch them. Or better yet, present him with a box of new golf balls and a print out of this list as his Father’s Day pass for good fun.
There was no other place I wanted to go to more as a kid than the Brookfield Zoo. In fact, blowing out the candles on my birthday cake involved wishing for my mom to take me to the zoo. That’s before I got smart and starting wishing for a dog. Over the past couple of years the zoo has started implementing a lot of new exhibits and homes for the animals. The best part of the zoo is that you’ll never see the same thing twice. The animals are always up to something.
Prom is right around the corner for many high schools and if you haven’t bought your dress yet, time is quickly running out. The number one thing any girl wants in her dress is for it not to match anyone else’s at prom. And I can attest, as someone who showed up at her prom in the same dress as another girl, it’s not a good feeling. Luckily my gentleman of a date that night said the right thing – you look nicer. Here are a few stores that can help you be the belle of the ball.

She’ll enjoy homemade sandwiches Dad can make with the kids, or if that’s too adventuresome there are plenty of places where you can pick up some nice sandwiches and sides to take along with you.
Summer is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate than by cruising down the lakeshore path on a bike.
