Governor Quinn went to Eisenhower High School in Blue Island this afternoon and signed a bill inspired by a former Eisenhower football player, Rocky Clark, who was paralyzed from the neck down after he was tackled during a game in 2000.
Clark was paralyzed when he was tackled during a football game in 2000 while playing for Blue Island’s Eisenhower High School. But mourners at his funeral said Clark went on to become an inspiration.
Clark passed away shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday following complications from abdominal surgery, his family announced.
Ten years after he was paralyzed playing football at Eisenhower High School in south suburban Blue Island, Rocky Clark is losing his insurance coverage.
