Santa paid a visit today to some children who are happy to be celebrating Christmas out of the hospital, reports WBBM’s Nancy Harty.
“Some of these families are going through the very most difficult periods of their lives, and to get a little respite, a little sense of joy with something they probably wouldn’t normally see – the Stanley Cup – it’s wonderful,” Ronald McDonald House CEO Doug Porter said.
The Ronald McDonald House held their first holiday party at the new Streeterville location.

Ribbon-cutting is set for Tuesday morning in Streeterville for the new Ronald McDonald House, a place to stay for the families of patients at the new Lurie Children’s Hospital.
Officials will cut the ribbon on Tuesday for a new 15-story Ronald McDonald House in Streeterville, the largest of its kind.
Ground was broken in Streeterville on what will be the world’s largest Ronald McDonald House, located just three blocks from what will be the new Children’s Memorial Hospital.
