Former Bulls star Michael Jordan could take the stand Wednesday in his lawsuit against a now-defunct grocery store chain, over its unauthorized use of his name and image in a 2009 magazine ad.
Roundy’s, which owns the Mariano’s chain, says it will buy 11 of the Dominick’s stores for $36 million.
Owners notified the state that 3,224 people could lose their jobs in Cook County, and nearly 2,400 people in the collar counties surrounding Cook.
Safeway President and CEO Robert Edwards said the company seeks to quickly sell all or as many of the Dominick’s stores as possible. Four have already been sold to the parent company of Jewel-Osco.
