The fatal shooting happened Thursday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood. Ramon Gartman, 33, was discovered unresponsive in the 8400 block of South Commercial at 11:48 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his face, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

About 7:25 p.m., a man was shot and killed in the Englewood neighborhood. Officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 7000 block of South Sangamon found 28-year-old Antonio Galtney with gunshot wounds to the armpit and thigh, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

About 11:15 a.m., a man was shot to death in the South Chicago neighborhood. Devante Warnsby, 21, was walking in the 8400 block of South Essex when a gray car pulled up and a male inside opened fire, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Four Officers Hurt In South Chicago Squad Car Crash

About 10:45 p.m., a vehicle was attempting to elude police during a traffic pursuit in the 8000 block of South Manistee Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said. During the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle crashed into two police squad cars in the 8900 block of South South Chicago Avenue.

2 Dead, 8 Wounded In Thursday Shootings On South Side

The most recent homicide happened about 8:30 p.m. in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. A 36-year-old man was standing in the 100 bock of East 69th Street, when at least one person walked up and shot him in the back, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he later was pronounced dead.

The most recent fatal shooting happened Sunday evening in the Ravenswood neighborhood on the North Side. A witness saw the man, between 18 and 25 years old, in an alley with several other males when gunshots were heard, police said. A red SUV was seen driving from the scene.
