Two Shot In South Shore Drive-By

Someone leaned from a gray four-day sedan on the 2500 block of East 79th Street at about 6:15 p.m. and opened fire on a store. A 53-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both of whom were inside the store at the time, were wounded.

Boy, 15, Accidentally Shoots Himself In The Foot

Police said the boy was standing on the sidewalk in the 7600 block of South Colfax Avenue, holding a gun, when he accidentally shot himself in the foot around 12:15 a.m.

Seven Wounded In Thursday Shootings

Most recently, a 24-year-old man was wounded in the Gage Park neighborhood about 7:15 p.m. The man was in the 5100 block of South Oakley Avenue when he was shot multiple times, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in “stable” condition.

Students at a South Side elementary school were hoping to send a message to their community, despite the recent shooting of six people a mile away from their school.
