Cell Phone Store Owner Shoots, Kills Robber

About 6:30 p.m. a man in his 20s armed with a handgun tried to rob a cell phone store in the 1700 block of East 87th Street. The store’s owner, armed with a handgun himself, shot an killed the would-be robber.


The owner of a shop in Pilsen was kidnapped and forced into his own SUV as he was closing the store early Friday. The suspects stole his SUV after dropping him off in nearby Stickney. (Credit: CBS)

Store Owner Kidnapped In Pilsen, SUV Stolen

Police said the 78-year-old man was closing the store in the 1100 block of West 18th Street when a group of men threw a pillowcase over his head, hit him in the face, and forced him into his own SUV.
