Struck By Vehicle
The 39-year-old was crossing the street in the 1800 block of West Van Buren Street about 9:50 a.m. when he was struck by a black vehicle, causing him to drop his cell phone, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said. A male got out of the vehicle and took the cell phone, then stabbed the victim in the elbow.
A west suburban man has been charged with intentionally hitting two men with his vehicle early Monday in the Belmont Heights neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
The victim, a 26-year-old man, was in the 700 block of North York Road about 3:30 a.m. when the semi struck him, according to Elmhurst police. He remains in critical condition.
