We’re getting as sick of saying it as you are of hearing it this winter, but temperatures will dip below zero tonight, at least the 21st time that’s happened this winter.
With temperatures plunging below zero again overnight, Chicagoans were starting another work week in frigid conditions, and the city was approaching the record for number of days of subzero cold.
The worst will begin Sunday night, when the mercury will dip below zero, and won’t get back above zero until sometime Wednesday — with a forecasted high temperature of 5 below zero on Monday, and 1 below zero on Tuesday.
First came the snow, then the bitter cold. Temperatures dipped to 3 below zero overnight at O’Hare, with wind chills of 15 below.
The conditions were brutal Thursday , and city officials are again warning that being outside for any length of time is dangerous.

A deep freeze will be settling over the Chicago area starting Thursday evening, and you’re best advised to bundle up.
