Indonesia Trials Begin For Chicago Couple Charged With Bali Murder

The badly beaten body of Sheila von Wiese-Mack, 62, was found in a suitcase in the trunk of a taxi outside an upscale hotel. Heather Mack, 19, and her boyfriend Tommy Schaefer, 21, both from Chicago, are being tried separately at the Denpasar District Court on Bali.

Chicago Teen And Boyfriend Charged With Killing Her Mother In Bali

Heather Mack and Tommy Schaefer were arrested Tuesday, after a taxi driver found the body of 62-year-old Sheila von Wiese-Mack inside a bloody suitcase the couple allegedly left in his cab.

Bond Set At $1M For Suspect In Suitcase Deaths

Steven Zelich, a 52-year-old security officer, has been charged with two counts of hiding a corpse. A prosecutor convinced a judge to set bond at $1 million, saying he expected homicide charges to be filed in the counties where the women were killed, but Zelich’s attorney said it’s unclear how the women died.
