Zion police have said Justus Howell was involved in a scuffle while trying to steal a handgun during a street sale just before the officer shot him Saturday afternoon.
About 7:20 p.m., Deonte M. Hoard and the 23-year-old man were shot in the 10500 block of South Yates Avenue, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
The 16-year-old and another boy, described only as a juvenile, were shot in the 3100 block of West 64th Street about 3:30 p.m. Friday.
The boy was in the 3900 block of South Prairie about 2:58 p.m. when he was shot in the head, police said.
A witness said at the scene he heard as many as 14 shots. Neighbors said Shaquise Buckner’s companion may have been the intended target.
The victim – identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office as Kyle Fisher of Chicago Heights – was pronounced dead at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields.
The teen was shot by two males that were riding bicycles about 8:25 p.m. Thursday at Kedvale Park. The shooters rode away on their bikes after the shooting.
The boy was in Gilbert Park with several friends when a male fired multiple shots from behind some nearby bushes.
The teen victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition.
Flossmoor firefighters worked to free the teen outside the Flossmoor library, where the accident occurred.
