Tyquone Greer was among half a dozen people shot in an Austin house less than two weeks ago. Then, just days ago, with the wound still fresh, the 6-foot, 9-inch star buried a three-pointer with three seconds left, earning the Orr Spartans a trip to the Class AAA state semi-finals.
He feared he may never play ball again after a bullet passed directly through his leg. But less than two weeks after he was shot, an Orr Academy High School senior is celebrating one of his biggest plays ever.
Patrick Calhoun, 22, faces six counts of aggravated battery in connection with the shooting about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 4900 block of West Race Avenue.
