Police said someone in a black 4-door sedan heading west on the 1100 block of West Wilson Avenue opened fire around 10 a.m. – apparently aiming at another vehicle – and ended up hitting a 21-year-old man on the street. Police said the man was not the intended target.
The women were on the athletic fields at Montrose Beach, just south of the Wilson Avenue exit ramp from Lake Shore Drive, when they were shot around 6 p.m.
