Best Bar Food In Chicago

When it comes to bars in Chicago, take your pick. There seems like there's one on just about every corner. But if it's delicious bar food you're looking for too -- from burgers to wings, and everything in between -- then there are some bars that stand out more than others. Here are five of the best.

Hopleaf
5148 N. Clark St.
Chicago, IL 60640

The Andersonville bar and restaurant started very much as a bar, and even today it's best known for its vast array of wonderful craft brews. But with the addition of a kitchen, as well as earning a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2016, it also offers a top-notch Belgian-inspired menu. Sip on a draft beer while splitting an appetizer of their popular mussels, which are made either Belgian-style or in a lobster curry broth. They also have some more "traditional" bar food such as chicken wings, but even those dishes are elevated, featuring things like miso-maple-citrus glaze. As for entrees, you can't go wrong with a duck Reuben, a melt in your mouth sandwich, along with frites.

Wild Goose Bar & Grill
4265 N. Lincoln Ave.

Chicago, IL 60618
(773) 281-7112

For comfort bar food, head over to this North Center bar and grill. Watch the game on their many TVs -- they're a Michigan State bar -- and dine on all sorts of classics. But if you want something award winning? Go for their wings, which have done well at WingFest for at least eight years, and they're currently only 25 cents on Monday. But it's not all meat here; their Friday fish fry has been regaled by the likes of Chicago's Best. Be sure to check out their specials which offer stellar deals every day of the week for both drinks and eats.

Analogue
2523 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Chicago, IL 60647

It's all about cocktails and cajun food at Analogue, a vibrant Logan Square spot. And this food is smashingly good in part because they source their ingredients from local farms. Their out of the ordinary menu includes items that are simple (but wonderfully executed), such as biscuits, to the big and bold flavors of dishes like the BBQ shrimp that's made with Worcestershire as well as butter, lemon and cajun spices that comes with a side of garlic bread.

Cortland's Garage Tavern & Grill
1645 W. Cortland St.
Chicago, IL 60622
(773) 862-7877
www.cortlandgarage.com

Situated not far from the busy six corner intersection in Wicker Park, Cortland's Garage is a welcome and cozy bar, perfect for meeting up with friends and grabbing a bite to eat and drink. The delicious burgers are a big part of the bar's appeal, and not just because they've been voted time and time again as the best burger by Roscoe Village's Burger Fest. Nosh on burgers that feature a range of meats -- from pork belly to Applewood smoked bacon -- and loads of gourmet toppings. But for one of the best burgers in the city, be sure to try their namesake, the Cortland Street. The menu also features an array of elevated classics, including wings, popcorn shrimp, fish and chips and rib chili, just to name a few of the many options.

Old Town Social
455 W. North Ave.
Chicago, IL 60610
(312) 266-2277
www.oldtownsocial.com

You just need to know this: Old Town Social, with Chef Jared Van Camp at the helm, makes their charcuterie in-house. And yes, this is a bar we're talking about. In fact, they aptly describe themselves as a "sophisticated sports parlour." Come for dinner -- take your pick between burgers, sandwiches, salads, and even tacos -- and then stay out late (every night of the week) in the spacious bar.
