If you’re looking for a dance fitness studio within or near your neighborhood, consider checking out classes offered through the Chicago Park District. With 580 parks located throughout Chicago, you’re sure to find one near you that offers a workout through dance. Some of the classes offered at select parks this winter include cardio dance, where class participants will develop muscle tone while working up a sweat. Flamenco, contemporary and hip hop dance are among the other styles taught in classes through the Chicago Park District. You can also step it up with Zumba lessons, too.

Are you looking for a dance studio that offers classes for the entire family? With classes at Studio Energia, you can workout in Zumba and Zumba Toning classes. Got kids? They can also work out in Studio Energia’s hip hop classes. The lessons feature a blend of dance moves, including salsa and merengue, and are set to high-energy music. The class schedule is flexible, so you can feel free to drop in and attend a class as your schedule allows. Classes are available in the evenings and on the weekends. Chicago Zumba Classes also offers Pilates classes if you’re looking for a different workout to try.

Although this Zumba class takes place at the Lombard Roller Rink, you’ll be wearing your regular workout shoes for lessons. Participants of all levels can attend the classes, which are led by instructor Lisa McDaniel. As the classes take place on the skating rink floor, class participants must change into their shoes to workout prior to class. Classes are $6 each and are held on Mondays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; registration in advance is not required and drop-ins are welcome. In addition, classes are available for those ages 13 and up.

Shake up your workout routine by participating in the classes offered at Chaturanga Holistic Fitness. Located in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood, the studio offers an assortment of classes to make you get up and move. Choose from Pilates-Ballet Fusion, which combines both disciplines, belly dancing and Zumba and Zumba Toning classes. If you’d like to unwind a bit, you’re in luck, as Chaturanga also offers yoga and meditation classes.
