Best Hookah Bars In Chicago

Hookah lounges, by their very nature, are chill places to be. But come the weekend, they can be just as hopping and lively as any bar in the Chicagoland area. What else do these bars have in common? They all offer a wide selection in flavors, and not all are very common -- vanilla chai tea latte anyone? If you're looking for a trendy but fun experience, you'll get it at these five hookah bars.

For a laid-back, Egyptian vibe, with plenty of comfortable seating, head to this West Rogers Park cafe. Hookahs often range from $10 to $12, but My Hookah Cafe does offer special rates, often during the week, when hookahs are just $6 or $8 in a wide range of flavors. While My Hookah Cafe doesn't offer food or drinks, it is BYOB; just remember to bring your alcohol receipt!

Day or night, pull up a seat and relax in this casual Lincoln Park hot spot. It offers more than 15 flavors, from citrus mist to banana split, in addition to a range of charcoals, including Starlite and Three Kings. Service has improved over the years, making it a great place to kick back and watch the game on TV, take advantage of the free Wi-Fi or hang out with friends. Ambrosia is also BYOB.

If you're out in the suburbs, head to this Schaumburg hookah lounge for a chill time and a smooth smoke. While this place is a bit hidden behind a Taco Bell, it's worth seeking out for its wide range of tobacco choices, and even some of its appetizers. The best part of Fumare though is the VIP area, but make sure to call and reserve your spot in this curtained-off area.

Unlike many other hookah lounges, this one has it all: hookah, food and alcohol. While you're enjoying your tea or alcohol, as well as a selection of Mediterranean fare (including hummus), try out a number of different flavors. Don't like a new flavor? That's okay, just tell the extremely helpful wait staff, and they'll switch it out for you. This lounge gets packed on the weekends, so be sure to call ahead and make a reservation

No matter what the day of the week, this late-night hookah bar is open. It's also one of the more lively of the hookah bars, and has one of the most extensive menus -- whether you're looking for a vanilla chai latte flavor, or perhaps mint. It's also BYOB so be sure to bring a six pack with you before you arrive in this Lakeview lounge.
