Chicago has a thriving art scene, complete with painters, sculptors, jewelry-makers and so much more. Luckily, you don't have to travel far to see the works of local artists, as many artists display their collections in exhibits and galleries throughout the city and suburbs. If you'd like to broaden your horizons regarding what you know about the recent art made in Chicago, then take a look at these artists with ties to the area. Not all art needs to hang on a wall. Deana Rose, a Chicago-based artist who creates handmade jewelry, has a selection of pendants, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Rose uses an assortment of gemstones, as well as glass, sterling silver, gold, pearls and other materials to create unique items. Rose's items have been displayed in festivals throughout the city and can also be found nationwide in select shops. Rapport's works also include portraits, animals and even fast food restaurants. The Chicago-based painter's art includes interesting and unique takes on some of the city's iconic landmarks, including the skyline, Wrigley Field and glimpses of Michigan Avenue. You may have seen Ariyama's works at the Wells Street Art Festival in Chicago earlier this summer, and if you'd like to see his creations in upcoming festivals, then take a look at his website. The Oak Park-based sculptor works with metals to create outdoor sculptures that can complement nature or even a backyard. Filo's sculptures have included trellises and even garden sculptures.
