Moms like to be thanked, period. The problem when Mother's Day rolls around is finding the best way to say thank you, I love you and I appreciate you. But moms are likely to be delighted no matter whether it's with a beautifully worded card, flowers, family time over brunch or dinner, tickets to a show or with an item you know from experience that she'll treasure. The popular brunch and dinner spot is doing a Mother's Day special for $70 adults and $25 for youngsters under 12. The cost is in the upscale range, but so are the views and food. It includes a seafood and dessert buffet and carving station. The menu also has gourmet breakfast and lunch dishes. If bookings are full ask about a waiting list or a reservation for dinner which starts at 6 p.m.

Tickets to a show might fit the bill, so to speak, if mom enjoys theater. It doesn't have to be "Jersey Boys," but the show did win Tony and Grammy awards and is a fun musical about The Four Seasons (Frankie Valli, Tommy DeVito, Bob Gaudio and Nick Massi). It showcases such songs as "Oh What a Night," "Sherry" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You." It returns to Chicago May 12. Best idea is to buy tickets ahead of time and put them or a note about them in a Mother's Day card.
