Chicago is one of the best cities to take a nighttime stroll. The variety of locations is great, from quiet, serene strolls to strolls full of energy and life. There are many places to take a nighttime stroll in Chicago, but here are the five best locations.

Lincoln Park encompasses 1200 acres on the lakefront and is one of the most valuable pieces of landscape in Chicago for a reason. The lush grounds and historical sites are some of the best in Chicago. Start at the Chicago History Museum and take the path north towards South Pond where a waterfront boardwalk will bestow a feeling of peace and harmony. The bridge offers the perfect opportunity to stop and gaze at the magnificent Chicago skyline. Continue heading north, and Lincoln Park Zoo will come into view. The zoo offers free admission, and if strolling in the early evening, a walk through Lincoln Park Zoo is an excellent stop off point from the path.

The grounds of the Chicago Botanic Garden can be simply stated as magnificent. Strolling through the garden in the evening is a must in Chicago. There are 26 gardens and four nature areas to explore; a must see is the famous Bonsai Collection. The 385 acres will allow for a lifetime of nighttime strolls, and each stroll will be a new discovery experience in nature. The Chicago Botanic Garden offers free admission, but parking rates do apply.

The 18 miles of paved path alongside Lake Michigan is a nighttime stroll to experience in Chicago. The Chicago skyline is a sight to see in itself, but added outdoor beauty includes nature sanctuaries, gardens and beaches. Beautiful harbors can also be seen along the way, along with recreational areas. The city-scape is in abundance along the Lakefront Trail in Chicago.
