Best Places For Graduation Brunch In Chicago

Graduation is a big deal whether you're graduating from high school or college. You've put in the years of hard work and now you want to celebrate with the friends and family who have supported you along the way. Here are a few brunch places that are great for groups who want some good food to go with their jubilation.

Right in the south loop near Columbia College, you'll find no better brunch spot than the Bongo Room. Known for it's amazing and flavorful dishes and seasonal pancakes, The Bongo Room has something to please everyone. There are plenty of vegetarian options, but no alcohol at this location. Be sure to arrive hungry as the portions are generous. There is usually a long wait here especially on the weekend. The Bongo Room doesn't take reservations. The wait is justified and the staff is knowledgeable and makes excellent recommendations if you get overwhelmed by the amazing choices before you.

If you want to go for a slightly fancier restaurant without completely going over budget, try Fork in the heart of Lincoln Square. They have a great craft beer list and a wine list in addition to great food that is a touch above what you would see on the average menu. The waitstaff is attentive and well able to help with suggestions and pairings and you can't get a better ambience. Especially when the large windows are open during warmer weather.

Looking for something a bit more trendy for this celebratory gathering? Head to Wicker Park and check out the Birchwood Kitchen. It's BYOB at this kitchen so everyone can drink what they like. The menu caters to all tastes. They are known for their croque sandwiches with a vegetarian one that even the meat eaters can enjoy. They don't take reservations, so arrive early if you'd rather not wait.

Right near DePaul is another amazing BYOB brunch spot known for amazing food and long wait times. Go very early or on a weekday, or be prepared to wait a while. Don't worry though. The wait is well worth it. The French Toast Flight is famous and there are usually specials that are not on the menu. Once you've been seated, you won't need to wait long since the service is attentive and quick. They also provide photos of your dishes to make it a bit easier to chose what you want. Portions are generous, so you may want to order a few and share between a large group.

Taking your family and friends sightseeing after brunch is perfect at Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe as it is situated across the street from Millenium Park. There are gluten-free options and kid's options so there is something for the entire family. The specialty pancakes are a must-try and the portions are large enough to share, or take home for a snack later on.
