Best Places To Go Dancing In Chicago

There are dozens of dance floors at clubs and bars throughout the city of Chicago that will satisfy the taste for disco, hip-hop, 80's, techno, Latin, house, country, indie rock and other genres.  Here are the top 5 best places for a fun and energetic night of dancing.  Break a sweat while dancing to the best DJ's in some of the best nightclubs in the city.

Nacional 27 is one of best places in the city to go dancing, as well as one of the best places to watch great dancing. They offer complimentary salsa lessons on Wednesday nights between 7:30 and 8:30. This is a destination for both dancing and great food. The restaurant closes down at 10:30pm and the club/dancing starts at 11:00pm. The DJ plays great dance music on Friday nights and all Latin music on Saturday nights, including Salsa and Merengue. Nacional 27 is a great destination for a date or a night of dancing with friends.

Danny's Tavern is a good fun choice for any night of the week. The DJ's play a mix of disco and other types of genres. If dancing elicits the feeling of energy and fun, Danny's is perfect. With such a laid back atmosphere, Danny's is more of a party at someone's house than a nightclub. Danny's can get packed, so be sure to arrive early when possible. Dress attire is casual and they only accept cash.

The Smart Bar (just north of Wrigley Field) can be found in the basement of the iconic Metro Concert Hall. The Metro opened in 1982 and has been hosting new bands and musicians since its opening 34 years ago. Smart Bar has one of the best sound systems ever heard, period. The crowd is young and energetic. Visitors will hear some of the best DJ's from the U.S. and Europe on the weekends.  Also, visitors can hear some really good local DJ's during the week when the ticket prices are lower.  For those who are fans of dancing to house, electro, and techno music, Smart Bar will become the favorite club. As the name implies, a sign cannot be found on the outside of the building.  Untitled is designed and themed after the prohibition era speakeasy establishments. The bar is located in the lower level, and the space is separated into two areas:  an open lounge area and an area where patrons can hear live music. For those going to Untitled, be sure to stick around to watch the burlesque show.  A lot of people go to Untitled to dance and experience a great DJ and a large stage-like dance floor.

Slippery Slope has a photo booth in the back near the dance floor to capture memories and a great bar and Skee Ball in the front, it doesn't get much better than that. This is flat out one of the best places to dance in the city. Nonstop hits and great dance mixes keep everyone moving to the beat.  The black painted brick walls and minimalistic décor add to the charm. It's hard not to have fun at the Slope.
