A solo piano concert performance of classical music by Jialiang Wu, as part of the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts which showcase emerging performers, will be put on at the Chicago Cultural Center. Jialiang was born in China and attended the Shanghai Conservatory of Music as a student of Dachun You. He is currently in his first year of the Doctor of Musical Arts degree program with Alan Chow at Northwestern University.

The music of Christmas with musicians of Ars Viva will be performed in mid-December. Last year's Christmas concert included inspiring brass and organ performances; this year's concert will include a large number of a cappella works and numerous brilliant arrangements for chorus, oboe and harp. This is a Chicago College of Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra performance and it will be directed by CCPA Orchestra director Emanuele Andrizzi and co-conductor Garry Clarke and it will feature soprano Brittany Loewen, who is one of the 2014 CCPA Solo Competition winners. Attending this classical music performance is a great way to support the performing arts at the college level and also hear and see upcoming young individuals who are fully vested in the performing arts.
