National Teacher Day is celebrated the Tuesday of the first full week of May and this year it will be celebrated on May 5, 2015. There are many celebrations going on in Chicago, some of which happen during the school day so students can attend with their teacher, while others happen after school and teachers can celebrate among themselves. Every Tuesday at Loyola University Museum of Art is free from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting an art museum is an excellent learning experience for both children and teachers. Teachers can take their class to the museum on Tuesday to celebrate National Teacher Day or teachers can celebrate after school by visiting the museum and enjoy the visual delights that are in the Loyola University Museum of Art.

Not only is May 5, 2015 National Teacher Day, but it is also Cinco de Mayo. The White Sox will be offering specially priced tickets for their game against the Detroit Tigers.
