Red, white and blue with yellow too! I have become skirt crazy. My closet is crammed with skirts. Name a length, fabric, or style – you’ll find one hanging. When I think of a fun, multi-season skirt, I see bold stripes and bright colors like this Nautical-inspired one. I spotted the skirt amid Chicago’s foot traffic. This Urban Outfitter’s skirt is my ideal example of mixing patterns with solids. Design elements like side pockets, mini bows and fabric-covered buttons make the skirt standout – as well as the individual! Now, to add to the ensemble like our street style model did, top off the bold skirt and plain Tee with a wedge, a chunky, versatile necklace, and a solid-color clutch.

Skirts are my go-to apparel for year-round wear. Dressed up or dressed down, they are the one article of clothing that fits any setting. For original finds, stop by Urban Outfitters where skirts are adorned with side buttoning, pockets, ruffles, lace, floral, stripes and bows. Prime examples: the Kimchi Blue Paperbag Skirt pictured or the Cooperative Buttoned Skirt.

Downsize from your everyday purse with a clutch like Old Navy’s Women’s Straw Rosette. It’s a mix of simple yet eclectic. The neutral color can be paired with numerous outfits and the crocheted paper straw and rose offer a unique, feminine touch.

There’s something about adding a little height that also increases your confidence. Step up a couple inches in a sandal like the Rocket Dog Women’s Crave Wedge Sandal. The peep toes, light fabric, and wrap-around strap add just enough character to your feet. And even better, the platform makes walking in style pretty easy.

I always say the chunkier the better. An ensemble is not complete without some neck candy. There are no rules when it comes to a good necklace—chain links, corral beads, acrylic, metal varying shapes and sizes, solid disks—I love them all. My current favorites: Chunky Coral Necklace or the Chunky Mixed Bead Necklace.
