In addition to the regular places you'd expect to find free wireless in a major city - like Starbucks - there are also fun, more interesting places to login and get free wifi in Mexico City. There are plenty of places around the city with free wifi, from hotel lobbies, to public parks, to fast food joints. But if you really want to escape the usual spots and enjoy some of Mexico City while you work, then make your way to one of these places:

Vip's Arquimides
Calle Horacio 203
Miguel Hidalgo, Polanco 1, 11570
Ciudad de México, D.F., Mexico

Vip's is a classic diner with some serious Mexican flair. It is a chain restaurant so there are many Vip's locations sprinkled throughout Mexico City. No matter where your hotel is during your Mexico City vacation, there is sure to be  Vip's location somewhere close by. This is a great place to get work done because its customer service is bar none. After all, the restaurant is named for the shorthand for "very important person." The restaurant chain has been a Mexican favorite since the mid 1960s and is a surefire way to experience some local Mexico City vibes while checking your email.

It is a great spot to go and get some work done, and when you need a break, treat yourself to a world class enchilada. Sanborns' is also very convenient because there is a drugstore, pharmacy and gift shop area of the restaurant as well. So in the sad case of getting overloaded with work on a business trip, Sanborn's is the one stop shop to get free wireless access, a hot meal, Advil for the plane and souvenirs for the whole family.

Rio De La Plata
República de Cuba 39
Cuauhtémoc, Centro, 06600
Ciudad de México, D.F., Mexico

Not hungry? Or maybe you need to get some work done or check e-mail late at night? Head to Rio De La Plata for free wifi at a dive bar. Grab a pint of beer and blend into the bar scene with easy access to free internet on your phone, tablet or laptop. Be aware that though the bar is definitely a casual dive, it has gained a lot of popularity over the past few years and usually fills up every night. So if you need to use your laptop and concentrate, this might not be the best spot for you. On the other hand, if you want to go out with your friends and be able to text, make calls or quickly check things online using a smartphone, this is the perfect solution. Especially if you are trying to meet a fellow tourist, this place is great because you'll both be able to text each other on the internet, make plans and look up directions without racking up roaming charges on your next cell phone bill.
