According to Doug Russell of WSSP in Milwaukee, Cubs' TV broadcaster Bob Brenly is close to agreeing to be the next manager of the Milwaukee Brewers. On September 25th Brenly removed his name from the Cubs' managerial search. Brenly was initially vocal in his interest of managing the Cubs after Lou Piniella's retirement was announced.

Brenly texted the Danny Mac Show and told the guys that there is nothing new to report.

Brewers General Manager, Doug Melvin denied these initial reports and said that he is yet to interview Brenly.
