Officer On ATV Hit By Car In South Loop

A Chicago Police officer was hospitalized Tuesday morning, after he was struck by a car while driving an all-terrain vehicle in the South Loop.

The officer was riding an ATV at 9th and State streets at 7:22 p.m., when he was struck by a vehicle, police said.

The officer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His condition is not known, but his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

Details were not immediately available on the vehicle that struck the officer or its driver.
