2 Chicago Cops Injured In Car Crash On Northwest Side

CHICAGO (CBS) - Two Chicago Police officers were injured after their vehicle was rear-ended by a car Wednesday night on the Northwest Side.

The crash happened about 9 p.m. near North Sacramento Avenue and West Addison Street, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said.

The officers were taken to an area hospital in serious to critical condition and stable condition.

"Both appeared to be stable but one is definitely a lot worse than the other," Langford said.

Police said both officers were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. They could not provide further information at 9:45 p.m.

Three cars were involved in the crash, according to unconfirmed police dispatch reports. The vehicle that caused the crash did not stop.
