CHICAGO (STMW) - A firefighter made contact with a downed wire while battling a West Side garage fire Wednesday afternoon but did not require hospitalization, fire officials said.

The fire was reported at 4350 W. Division St. at 2:10 p.m., Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado said. The fire was in a "couple of garages and telephone poles," he said.

A firefighter made contact with a downed wire and was medically evaluated at the scene but did not require hospitalization, Rosado said.

According to unconfirmed dispatch reports, the poles came down when a portion of a roof came off and knocked them over.
