Making The Biggest Impact

Julius Pepper was the biggest free agent of the off-season and with the hype came plenty of high expectations. And so far this year he's lived up to those expectations. "He's probably made the biggest impact, and the measuring stick for that goes far beyond the numbers," Brad Biggs said on the Mully and Hanley Show.

"He's made his presence felt," Biggs said. "I think it's fair to say [Peppers has] helped Israel Idonije with the constant attention that teams are paying to [him], I think Idonije has stepped forward."

On the injury front, Biggs discussed how the bye week will aid the Bears in coming back healthy. "I think there's a decent chance Lance [Briggs] will be back to play Buffalo," Biggs said.

Not only could Briggs return, but safety Major Wright could also make a comeback. The rookie was expected to come in a challenge for a starting position this season; however, the Bears might look to ease him into the safety rotation.

"Exactly what kind of role [the Bears] envision for [Wright] and what he's going to be doing, I can't say that yet," Biggs said. "I would imagine [they'd] get him in on special teams right away and kind of go from there."

"Safety [was] a major, major question mark coming in. I don't think [the Bears] were betrayed by Chris Harris and Danieal Manning. I think those guys actually accounted for themselves fairly well."
