The AT&T U-verse service has dropped the county music network Great American Country, HGTV, the Food Network, Cooking Channel and the home improvement channel DIY Network.

Those all are Scripps Networks channels and AT&T's contract with Scripps Networks has expired. The channels were pulled Friday morning and it's not known when the two sides will resume talks.

Scripps Networks President John Lansing says, despite what some may believe, the contract breakdown was not over money.

The problem, he says, is that AT&T U-Verse wants to use the company's video on phones and websites and without restrictions.

Newsradio 780 has reached out to AT&T for comment.
