Rolando Martinez claims that he was walking June 25, 2009 outside of a building at 1600 N. 1st Ave in Melrose Park when he was struck by an air conditioning unit that fell from a second floor window, according to a suit filed in Cook County Circuit Court.READ MORE: With Eviction Moratorium Over, Many Chicagoans In Need Of Rental Assistance Are Still In Limbo

The two-count suit seeks more than $80,000 in damages against the owners of the building, Rafael and Reyna Lopez.
