Naperville Reconsidering Parking Ban
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (CBS) -- The City of Naperville is reconsidering its ban on overnight parking in the western suburb's downtown, in what is much-welcome news for bar patrons.
The Naperville City Council is set to vote on a program that will allow drivers to park their cars overnight on Friday and Saturday nights without getting a ticket.
In a pilot program between March and September, drivers were allowed to leave their vehicles in the interior levels of the Central Parking Facility, the Van Buren parking deck, and the Municipal Center parking deck, without fear of getting a parking ticket, the Naperville Sun reported.
But a plan to make the program permanent failed on a 4-4 vote in October, the newspaper reported.
The new vote on the parking plan is set for Tuesday night.
