Plenty Of Family-Friendly New Year's Options

CHICAGO (WBBM) -- If you want to go out tonight for New Year's Eve, but don't have a babysitter or want to ring in the New Year with your children, no problem.

As WBBM Newsradio 780's Debra Dale reports there are plenty of family-friendly New Year's Eve celebrations around the Chicago area.

Downtown Naperville is hosting a family-friendly New Year's Eve celebration, with a bell parade at 5 p.m. and a countdown to the New Year early at 6 p.m.

Brookfield Zoo has a Zoo Year's Eve Party planned from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with an early countdown planned, and its magic light display. Also, the Hamill Family Play Zoo will have special activities for kids under the age of 6.

At Navy Pier, a Family New Year's Eve Bash is scheduled. Carnival rides, live music and fireworks at 8:15 p.m.

Enchanted Castle in Lombard is hosting two New Year's celebrations, from 3 to 7 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to midnight. The $21.95 per-person price at the indoor amusement park buys a buffet dinner with party favors , a sparkling juice toast, 20 game tokens, an unlimited pass for all attractions, and a countdown complete with a ballooned rop.
