Warmer Air, Light Snow Move Into Area

CHICAGO (STMW) - Rising temperatures are expected to bring a light snow early Saturday in the Chicago area.

Light snow is expected early Saturday, as temperatures will rise to minus-1 to 3 degrees and 5 to 9 Downtown, according to the National Weather Service. Wind chill values will remain between minus-5 and minus-15 degrees.

The weather service is predicting a 60 percent chance of measurable snow, but an accumulation of less than an inch is expected.

Temperatures are expected to rise throughout the day Saturday, with a chance of a light morning snow giving way to partly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper-teens, the weather service said.

Single-digit temperatures are expected again Saturday night, when wind chill values could again dip to minus-10 degrees.

For Sunday's NFC Championship game between the Bears and Green Bay Packers, temperatures are expected to be in the high-teens with a 40 percent chance of snow showers, the weather service said. Wind chill readings between zero and minus-10 are expected.
