Thomas Proving His Worth

Kurt Thomas wasn't the biggest free agent signing in the NBA this past offseason. He wasn't even the biggest free-agent signing by the Chicago Bulls. But he's proving his worth while the Bulls battle injures.

With the Bulls going stretches of the season with out Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer, Thomas was called on to fill a much bigger role than he expected. Thomas was brought in to add a veteran presence and add minutes off the bench. But last night, like he has in the past this season, Thomas played a vital role in a Bulls' win.

"He's the reason why we won tonight," Bulls' guard Derrick Rose said after Monday's 92-83 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Thomas' efforts showed up all over the stat sheet. With 22 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks; Thomas showed why he was brought in, and the value he provides for a young team looking to take a big step this season.

"That's why we look up to him on this team," Rose said. "He's been through a lot and he's helping us right now."
