Movie Stuntman Hit By Car During Filming On West Side

CHICAGO (STMW) - A movie stuntman was seriously injured when he was struck by a car during filming on the West Side on Monday afternoon.

About 3:30 p.m., the Chicago Fire Department got a call of a person struck by a car on the 1900 block of South Spaulding Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Rich Rosado.

The injured person was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious to critical codition, Rosado said.

The victim was a stuntman working on a movie being filmed at that location, police News Affairs Officer Anne Dwyer said. She did not have further details as of about 4:30 p.m.

Representatives from the Chicago Film Office were not immediately available for comment. The Film Office website says the TV series "Shameless" is filming in the city through Wednesday.
