Left Your Car On LSD? Call To Get It Back

CHICAGO (STMW) - The city is telling motorist who abandoned their cars on Lake Shore Drive during the blizzard Tuesday or Wednesday to call 311 for the location of their towed vehicle.

Several hundred vehicles were moved from Lake Shore Drive and taken to lots at Soldier Field, Chicago Avenue, Belmont Avenue, Foster Avenue, Wilson Avenue and North Avenue at Wells Street, according to a release from the city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

Motorists can claim their vehicles through the night Wednesday and any time Thursday, the release said. Once motorists arrive, security personnel will escort them to their vehicles.

People claiming their vehicles need only bring their address and a description of the vehicle, the release said. Motorists should include the make, model and color of the car and have their keys with them.

There will be no tickets or towing charges issued.

Motorists calling from outside city limits should call (312) 744-5000.
