CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (STMW) - A 20-year-old college student has been charged with a series of incidents in northwest suburban Crystal Lake in which he allegedly approached women, masturbated and made lewd comments to them.

Anthony M. Andrea, of Braircliff Lane in Lake in the Hills is charged with two misdemeanor counts of public indecency and one misdemeanor count each of disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis.

The charges stem from three different incidents, according to a release from Crystal Lake police, who arrested Andrea about 6:40 p.m. Monday at McHenry County College, where he is a student.

The first incident happened Dec. 1. at Golf Course Road and Barlina Road when Andrea allegedly approached a 46-year-old woman who was walking her dog. He spoke to her, making a lewd or suggestive remark that disturbed her, the release said.

The second incident happened Jan. 25 at Canterbury Drive and Farringdon Lane. Andrea, in his car, approached a 47-year-old woman walking near the intersection. He spoke to her, got her attention and when she came closer to his car, he allegedly took out his penis and began to masturbate. When she turned away and called police, he fled.

The third incident happened Monday in the parking lot of Coventry Plaza at 35 Berkshire Drive. Andrea, while in his car, approached a 46-year-old woman who was about to go into a store. He spoke to her and she noticed he was masturbating, the release said.

She went into the store to notify police, after getting the license plate number of the offender's car, the release said.
