Workers Hurt In Elevator Accident At U Of C
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two construction workers were hospitalized Friday morning when the elevator they were riding in fell about 12 feet on the University of Chicago campus.
The two men were on an elevator at a construction site at 5620 S. Ellis Av. at about 10:15 a.m. when the elevator car fell about 12 feet, officials said.
The men weren't seriously hurt, but were "shaken up" and taken to the University of Chicago Hospitals in fair condition.
Police said there has been a lot of construction underway near the Ellis Avenue address, which is across the street from the university's Regenstein Library.
