Teen Girl Missing After Leaving For Work

CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are looking for a 16-year-old girl who spoke to her mother Monday while heading to work on a CTA bus and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Shayla Baylor spoke to her mother to say she was on a northbound CTA bus headed to work at 4700 S. State St., a missing persons alert from Calumet Area detectives said.

Baylor is a black girl, 5 feet and 110 pounds with brown eyes, black hair and medium complexion. She was last seen wearing khaki uniform pants, a burgundy short-sleeved polo shirt, burgundy long-sleeve pullover sweater with UIC on the front and black hoodie with white letters. She was carrying a a gray backpack.

She attends UIC College Prep High School, the alert said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Calumet Area detectives at (312) 747-8274.
